THANK YOU: The family of the late Lester Gaudette would like to express their appreciation and gratitude to all who participated in his funeral proceedings. To the Hayes Funeral Home in Chapeau, Thank you for holding the visitation, and arranging to have him brought home to the island to be laid to rest. To the relatives and friends who contributed to the purchase, preparation and serving of food at the luncheon, Thank you. Thank you to the many who attended the visitation and Funeral services, it meant so much to us. To the St. Joseph’s Church choir led by Colleen Fleming on the organ, to our cousin Donna, and Aunt Theresa and their group for performing “Hallelujah” at the offertory, Thank you for sharing your gift of music, it was truly beautiful. Thank you those who opened the grave and closed it after the service. To all who made contributions to organizations such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation, and the St. Joseph’s Cemetery Fund in our Father’s name, those who bought flowers and purchased Mass Cards, Thank you. Last but certainly not least, thank you Father Tim Moyle. The mass was beautiful and your homily was well thought out and expressed, with a personal touch. It brought a lot of comfort and peace to help us all through a difficult time. All of you made it easy for us to understand why our father wanted to be brought “home” for his final rest.                  The Gaudette Family

Notes from Fr. Tim
1) We begin Holy Week with the celebration of Palm Sunday this weekend. These are the most sacred days in the Church’s calendar, marked with special feasts that highlight service to one another (Holy Thursday), the consequences of sin, (Good Friday) and the hope of a better future (Easter Sunday). I encourage everyone to make the effort to participate in as many of these celebrations as possible. Given the paucity of clerics available to help with the Easter Triduum celebrations we have had to change our traditional schedule. Please check the times and places for all the masses and services as listed in this bulletin.

2) Our sympathy and prayers to the Carroll family as they laid to rest their mother, Mrs. Mary Carroll this past week. We also extend them to the family of Helene Cavey who passed away last weekend as well. May God grant peace and comfort to those who they left behind to grieve their passing and peace to their eternal souls.

3) Tickets are now on sale for the St. Joseph’s fundraising event: “Where the Two Islands Meet” on Sunday, May 7th. They can be purchased from one of the following: Margaret Tallon (689-2676), Donna Tierney (689-2558), Sharon Fitzpatrick (689-2907), or from the parish office. They are already selling fast so don’t delay in getting yours as space is limited.

4) Bible Study is canceled this coming week due to the Holy Week celebrations. We’ll resume again on the following Thursday at 7 pm.
