FLU SHOTS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR EVERYONE at HARRINGTON COMMUNITY CENTRE: on Monday November 3rd from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm and on Monday November 17th from 1 pm to 6:30 pm.

DIOCESAN C.W.L. FALL MEETING:  Parish C.W.L members are advised that the Fall Meeting of the Diocesan C.W.L will be held in Chapeau on Saturday, October 25th, 2014.

NOTES FROM FR. TIM
 1) Please remember to pray for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Norma Sullivan whose funeral was celebrated in Sheenboro this past Friday. Our sympathies to her family in their time of loss.2) This Sunday is the date for our Annual St. Joseph’s Parish Supper. If you’ve already purchased your ticket, I look forward to meeting you in the St. Joseph’s Hall. The meal is served at 5 pm. If you’ve promised pies, pickles, baked goods etc., please ensure to bring them to the hall prior to that time.

3) Next Bible Study Class will be on Thursday October 30 in the St. Joseph’s Rectory at 7 pm. New members are always welcome!

4) We’re still awaiting the last of the bills to be paid from the Chapeau Parish Supper, but we will post a financial report as soon as possible.

5) Interested in a contract to clean the Church, shovel snow, or cut grass (church, rectory, and/or cemetery) in St. Joseph’s? Please submit a proposal for any or all of these jobs to the parish office before October 31st. Contact Fr. Tim for more information.

6) A reminder to the students in Gr. 6 that you are to meet with Fr. Tim in the Chapeau Sacristy immediately following this Sunday’s mass.

7) Envelopes are available in each of the churches to accept donations for the “Friends of Peru” project. PLEASE be as generous as possible! Every single dollar helps and will benefit those in Peru most in need of our assistance.

 

HALLOWEEN PARTY—KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS HALL:   Hey everybody! Come on out to our Halloween party on Saturday November 1st at the knights of Columbus hall, 170 Ellis St., Pembroke Ontario. Résidence Meilleur Du Haut Pontiac: has now received its Charitable Donation Status. For families who wish, “in memoriam” donations can be directed to Résidence Meilleur Du Haut Pontiac and receipts for income tax purposes will be issued.

YOUNG AT HEART NEWS: On Wednesday, October 22nd at 5:00 pm there will be a Pot Luck Supper followed by a General Meeting. Urging all members to attend and renew your membership. Keep in mind also that this is election year. See you then.

 TUESDAY SOCIAL CLUB: Our group will get together on Tuesdays  from 1 to 3 pm at Harrington Community Centre on a weekly basis. Everyone welcome and bring along any portable project you’re working on or a favourite board or card game. Bring along some friends too. NOTE: We are no longer in need of milk bags but would love pillowcases to make Sundresses for Africa. Leave them at your respective churches or, better yet, bring them to us on a Tuesday.

 FRIENDS OF PERU:  James and Alicia Keogh will be returning to Peru in November and those wanting to send donations there can give them to Fr. Tim Moyle and James Keogh.

Those that have refundable bottles or cans can donate them also for this cause.  We will later have a 50/50 draw to raise funds.  Thank you all for your collaboration.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: The next meeting of Bishop N.Z. Lorrain council 1531 of the Knights of Columbus will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 7:30 p.m.in the K of C hall on Ellis Avenue in Pembroke.

CATECHIST DAY: A formation day for Parish Catechists and all interested persons entitled Our Lives Proclaiming Christ will be held on Saturday, November 15th, 2014 from 8:30 to 2:00 at the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Pembroke, 284 Trafalgar Road. Bishop Michael Mulhall will speak on the Spirituality of a Catechist followed by sessions with presenters from various ministries. The afternoon session will consist of a group sharing. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Please let us know if you have any food allergies. There is no fee for registration is necessary to inform us of your group of interest: Youth Ministry, R.C.I.A, Confirmation, First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, Baptism or Children’s Liturgy.
