NOTES FROM FR. TIM |
1) Congratulations to the students who were confirmed this week by Bishop Mulhall. Many thanks to the St. Joseph’s CWL for the cake and reception that followed, to the choir members from each of the churches who helped with the music, and the servers who participated in the celebration. Your generous assistance made for a memorable and wonderful mass.
2) Please remember to pray for the repose of the soul for Mrs. Albertina (Turner) Gagnon who died this past week. Mrs. Gagnon was the mother of Deanna Ranger (Wesley), David (Barbara), Debbie (Tim), Bernadine and John (Sandy). Our sympathies to them in their time of loss. 3) We kick-off our 40 hours for the Kingdom campaign with the first of our monthly Holy Hours this Friday (Dec 5) at 10 am in St. Joseph’s Church. The hour starts with mass at 10 am followed by exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until benediction at 11:15 am. Confessions will also be heard from10:20 am to 11:10 am. There are many very sick folks in our parishes these days. Why not come and pray for them during this hour of prayer? 4) Looking forward to joining the Young at Heart Seniors for the Annual Christmas Banquet on Wednesday Dec. 10th. This is ALWAYS a great meal where good spirits abound. Don’t forget to buy your ticket from anyone on the board of directors. It’s the best meal for the money you’ll spend all season! 5) The 2015 collection envelopes will be distributed in the churches during the first half of December. Please remember that using these envelopes is required if you want a tax receipt for your donations. 6) Things are happening on the main street of Chapeau these days! Congratulations to Derek Bertrand on the commencement of his new enterprise (brewery and pub-style restaurant) and to Pauline Godin (parish secretary) on her new home which will be delivered in a week! |
