|Notes from Fr: Tim|
|1) Did you know that in Latin America it is customary to leave up one’s Christmas decorations and tree until February 2nd – the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord? It serves as a reminder to continue to offer prayers of gratitude for the gift of the Christ child. What can you do to help keep alive your Christmas faith throughout the month of January? No doubt it might serve as an antidote to that feeling we sometimes get when the January bill arrives with all our Christmas spending!
2) Bible Study resumes this week on Thursday evenings at 7 pm in the parish rectory. New members are always welcome.
3) Chapeau Candle problem? Folks, someone is taking candles from the candle stand at the front of the Church!! We have no problem if anyone wants to take an insert candle home so long as the money is put in the box for it, but we don’t sell the glass exteriors. Please leave the glass containers in the candle stands. If you want to purchase a glass candle, we do have some available for sale in the Chapeau sacristy. Just come and see Meril, Pauline, or me after mass and we’ll be pleased to help you if you want one.
4) We’ve been going through quite the baby boom this past year… and it doesn’t seem to be letting up! Does anyone have any objections if we start to publish the names of these new infant Catholics and their parents so that we could take up the task of praying for their long, healthy, and faith-filled lives? Let me know what you think.
