Notes from Fr: Tim
1) Welcome to the season of Lent! We kicked it off on Wednesday with the distribution of ashes. Now we are called upon to practice the spiritual disciplines of fasting, prayer, and almsgiving throughout the rest of this penitential season. One form of prayer you might consider is the communal praying of the Stations of the Cross on Friday evenings at 7 pm. This week the prayer service will be in the Chapeau church (sacristy).

2) The gospel this week provides us with the proper way to deal with temptations in our lives: turning to God in prayer and the study of scriptures. We can help with both through our weekly Bible Study classes. They take place on Thursday evenings at 7 pm. in the St. Joseph’s rectory.

3) Our prayers and sympathies go out the families of three deceased parishioners this week. Please remember to pray for the souls of:

  • Catherine Lapierre (St. Joseph’s)
  • Rita Romain (Chichester)
  • Marion Regimbald (Chapeau)

4) We welcomed a new Catholic into the Church (St. Joseph’s) last Sunday with the baptism of Ethan Dayment, infant son of Joshua and Ashley Dayment. Congratulations to the Dayment family.
