|Notes from Fr. Tim|
|1) Our sympathy and prayers to the Sullivan family upon the death of Randy Sullivan from Chapeau. He was the son of Kevin & Cecile Sullivan. May God grant him eternal peace.
2) We also as your prayers for the repose of the soul of Mr. Ron Spriggs (Snoopy), former proprietor of Chichester Grocery who passed away suddenly last week.
3) The Bible Study group have finished their journey through the Acts of the Apostles and will be beginning to study St. John’s gospel on Thursday at 7 pm. Now would be a great time to join the group if you are interested in learning more about the scriptures. New members are always welcome. Meetings are held in the parish rectory in St. Joseph’s.
4) The Chapeau CWL are sponsoring the ‘12 Hours of Prayer for Palliative Care‘ on Wednesday, May 4th from 8 am to 8 pm. Among the elements of this day will be:
-Mass at 10 am -exposition of the Blessed Sacrament following Mass with benediction at 1 pm.
-exposition of the Blessed Sacrament following Mass with benediction at 1 pm.
-the rosary prayed each 60 minutes beginning at the top of the hour.
We are looking for a minimum of 12 volunteers to sign up to commit to being present in the Church for at least one hour. This is a VERY WORTHY CAUSE in light of our government’s move towards euthanasia. Once they succeed in putting this misguided policy in place, it is unlikely that politicians will resist the argument that killing people is less expensive than caring for them to their natural death. As your pastor, I implore parishioners of all three parishes to join us in this project of prayer as we ask God’s grace to ensure our personal wishes in our final days be respected.
