There will be a midnight Mass held at St. Teresa’s of the Little Flower Chapel, Fort William Quebec, on December 24th, 2016, celebrated by Father Thomas Fitzpatrick. All are welcomed.

THE SHEENBORO R.A: has rented the ice at the Chapeau Arena on Monday Dec.26th from 11:00a.m. until 1:00p.m. The first hour (11:00-12:00) will be skating only, and the second hour (12:00-1:00) will be pick- up hockey –the puck must remain on the ice. Equipment is optional but helmets are recommended, especially for children.

CHAPEAU REGIONALE GALLERIE: is featuring “AN OLD FASHIONED CHRISTMAS CONCERT” at St. Alphonsus Church this Sunday December 11th starting at 1:30 p.m. Following the concert please join us at the Gallerie for “Holiday Treats & Beverages”. THE TUESDAY SOCIAL CLUB: (sponsored by the Young at Heart) Thank you for your donations of yarn, pillow cases and other fabrics. To date (we began four years ago) we have sent to various missions with the help of Smitty’s Home Hardware in Pembroke: Sharon 819- 689-2907, Angie 819-689-2486 and Bernie 819-689-5223.

Bishop N.Z. Lorrain Council 1531 of the Knights of Columbus will be holding its annual Christmas dinner for members on Tuesday, Dec. 13 at the K of C Hall on Ellis Avenue in Pembroke. Tickets are $20 and are available through the Grand Knight, at the bar, at Town and Country Men’s Store or at the door the night of the dinner. Social hour starts at 6 p.m. and dinner is at 7 p.m. Members must bring a gift for the exchange. Donations for the food bank would be appreciated.

SHEENBORO PUBLIC NOTICE: Please take notice that the 2017 budget proposal for the Municipality of Sheenboro will be presented and adopted at a special meeting of Council held on Monday, December 12th at 5:00 p.m. in the Municipal Office.   The Municipal office will be closed from December 23rd to January 8th.

ST. ALPHONSUS: The new list for Eucharistic Ministers and Lectors are available in the sacristy. Thank you!

CHRISTMAS MASS SCHEDULE: Christmas Eve: Chapeau: 7:00 p.m., St. Joseph 8:30 p.m., St. Paul the Hermit at 9:00 p.m., and at St. Teresa’s Chapel at the Fort at midnight, Christmas Day: Chapeau at 10:30 a.m.

ST. ALPHONSUS C.W.L: The box for used stamps is still at the back of the church. One thing to remember when cutting them- please leave ½ inch of paper all around the stamps.

CATECHISM CLASS: The next catechism class for children in groups 1 to 5 will be held Sunday, January 8th, 2017 at 9:15 a.m. at Dr. Wilbert Keon School. Books are in you can pick them up at the Parish office. The books are $10. Grade 6 meet with Fr. Tim after mass that day. Thank you!

CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS PAGEANT-DURING CHRISTMAS EVE MASS IN CHAPEAU: We are excited to announce that we will be presenting a Children’s Christmas Pageant during Christmas Eve Mass. We are looking for angels, kings and shepherds aged 4 and up who would love to participate. We are also looking for older boys and girls to join our Choir that will lead our pageant in the singing of lovely Christmas carols. If you are interested in either the pageant or the choir, please see Hélène Chartrand, Chantal Lair, Lise Vaillancourt or Louis Schryer after mass to sign-up or call 819-689-2320. Our practices will be held on Sundays Dec. 11th and Dec.18th following mass and on Friday, Dec.23rd at 5 pm. Thank you!

ST. JOSEPH’S CHRISTMAS PAGEANT: How many children would be interested in taking part in a Christmas pageant in St. Joseph’s Church on Christmas Eve. There be a pageant meeting on Sunday, December 18th after mass to see if there is any interest before proceeding with the Pageant. Thank you!

 CHAPEAU R.A. NEW YEAR’S EVE DANCE: at the Harrington Community Center from 8p.m. to 2p.m. Tickets 10$ per person available at Conroy’s or from Lee Ann Gagnon at 819-689-5466 or Mariette Sallafranque 819-689-2448. Lunch will be served.

Notes from Fr. Tim
1) We welcomed James Gallagher, son of David Gallagher and Julie Lafreniere who was baptised in the St. Joseph’s Church last Sunday.

2) Our sympathy to the family of baby Victoria Swan, whose funeral was celebrated in St. Joseph’s on Thursday morning. Please keep her parents, Deidra Chartrand and Adam Swan close to your heart in prayers this week. We also extend the condolences to the Tallon family upon the sudden death of Donna Tallon. She was the sister of Pat Tallon of St. Joseph’s.

3) Bible study classes are finished until the start of the new year.

4) The practices for the Christmas pageants are beginning this weekend. If you would like your children to participate in either Chapeau or St. Joseph’s on Christmas Eve, please take note of the relevant announcements elsewhere in this bulletin.
