Notes from Fr. Tim
1) Our heartfelt thanks to the artists of the Chapeau Regional Gallery for their leadership and hard work in making last Sunday’s concert and supper such a great success. Your efforts resulted in a donation of $6,326 to our parish accounts. May you be richly blessed for your wonderful gift to St. Alphonsus Parish.

2) The good folks in St. Joseph’s Parish were evidently inspired by the work of the Chapeau Gallery artists as they have also organized a fundraising project. ‘Where The Two Islands Meet’ will be an event on Sunday, May 7th consisting of two slide shows with musical performances by Jim Beattie. The first slide show (beginning at 4:30 pm) will focus on the Emerald Isle with the second (beginning at 6:30 pm.) will highlight the sights and sounds of our beloved Ottawa Valley. In between the two presentations (at 5:45 pm) there will be a meal of Irish Stew served. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased from Margaret Tallon (689-2676), Donna Tierney (689-2558), Sharon Fitzpatrick (689-2907), or from the parish office. Space is limited by the constraints of the St. Joseph’s Municipal Hall so do not delay in purchasing or reserving your tickets.

3) Our prayers and sympathies go out to the family of Lester Gaudette who died this past week. His funeral was held at St. Joseph’s Parish on Saturday morning. May God bring his soul safe into His hands and grant peace and solace to those who grieve his passing.

4) We extend our sympathy as well to the family of Chuck Chassie of St. Joseph’s who grieve the passing of his sister, Shirley Lacroix Denault. Her funeral was celebrated this past Wednesday in Waltham. May Shirley’s soul rest in peace.

5) The Stations of the Cross will be celebrated in Chapeau this coming Friday at 7 pm.

6). Our Bible Study group continues to meet on Thursday evenings at 7 pm in the St. Joseph’s rectory. We will soon be moving our meetings into the church sacristy as we’ve outgrown the space available in the rectory! But new members are always welcome. Why not come out and learn about the treasures to be found in studying God’s holy word?
