|Notes from Fr. Tim|
|1) Bible Study: It’s time to start our Bible study group for the new school year! We will be starting our journey through Paul’s Letter to the Romans as our first project. Meetings will be held in the sacristy of St. Joseph’s Church on Thursday evenings beginning at 7 pm. New members are always welcome.
2) We congratulate Stephanie Turner and Gabriel Lemaire who were married in the Chapeau church this weekend. Please pray for the long term happiness of this newly married couple.
3) Speaking of marriages, dates for next year are already beginning to fill in the weekends for next year. Don’t delay in contacting the parish if you are planning to your nuptials to ensure that you can reserve the date of your dreams! Remember too that the Marriage Preparation Program is MANDATORY for all couples and it is offered only three times between now and next summer. Space is limited for these preparation programs so don’t delay in reserving a space. Call the parish office if you require more information.
4) Since I raised the issue of telephones, I wish to advise everyone that we’re giving up on our experiment of obtaining our phone service in the Chapeau office through our internet connection. It was a valiant attempt to save money as our internet provider was offering it as a free service to the parish but ‘free’ is of little value when the phones only work properly a small percentage of the time. Bell Canada will be installing a regular phone line this week and will be issuing us a local number at that time. It is going to be 819-689-5757. But since the phones are not to be installed until next Friday (Sept 15th) don’t try calling before then!
5) Attention Catechists: It’s time to start preparing for this year’s program. Please call the parish office and confirm with either Pauline or me if you are willing to help teach our parish children our Catholic faith once again this year. We are always looking for more people to help with this important work so new catechists are certainly most welcome too!
