Notes from Fr. Tim
1) October 1st is racing towards us quickly so it’s time to start thinking about how to help make our parish supper in Chapeau as big a success as possible. We need for it to generate a significant profit to help pay our bills, especially given all the repairs and renovations that we are in the middle of completing. Please consider helping out as a volunteer and make certain to spread the word about the supper among all your family, friends, and neighbours to help us sell as many meals as possible. Of course, we are also counting on you for your donations of homemade pies and pickles too!!

2) Our bible study group has started once again as we begin our journey through Paul’s Letter to the Romans. Meetings take place in the Sacristy of St. Joseph on Thursday from 7 pm to 8 pm.

3) Congratulations to Noah Dennis Garry Kowalchuk (Cindy Pappin/Mark Kowalchuk) and Broderick Mark Badger (Amber Regier/Brent Badger) who were baptized in Chapeau last Sunday.

4) We also offer our congratulations to Stephanie Turner & Gabriel Lemaire who were married in Chapeau last weekend. Please remember to pray that their life together will be happy and grace-filled for many years.

5) Are your children registered for this year’s catechism program? New children who haven’t participated in the past must be registered in advance to ensure that we have enough workbooks etc. on hand for the start of the course. There are forms available at the entrance of the churches. We are still waiting for confirmation of the teachers in the program. So if you are willing to help teach again (or even for the 1st time!) please call the office and let us know.

6) Can you believe it? We had the new phones installed via Bell in the Chapeau office last week and within two days they started to act up! Hopefully, we’ll be able to get them working again asap. We apologize if you tried to reach us without success. I’m beginning to think I might need to perform an exorcism to rid the new office from whatever evil spirit is making it so troublesome for folks trying to call.
