Notes from Fr. Tim
1) ‘Congratulations’ and ‘Thank you’ to Henry and Joan Sallafranque! ‘Congrats’ on being chosen ‘Family of the Year’ by the Knights of Columbus in Pembroke… and ‘Thank you’ for donating the cash prize that comes with that honor to the building/repair fund for St. Alphonsus Church. I guess acts like your donation helps to explain your winning the award in the first place!

2) I’ve been contacted by some ‘Cookie Elves’ from St. Alphonsus Parish who are putting together some Christmas baking packages for those who are housebound this season. They are looking for seniors, singles, and/or shut-ins who might like to receive one. Please call the parish office (819-689-5232 or 689-5757) if you know of anyone who would appreciate such a Christmas treat. We will forward all the names to the Elves and deliveries will be made in the first couple of weeks in December. Please help spread a bit of Christmas cheer in our parish!

3) Bible Study classes continue this Thursday at 7 pm. in St. Joseph’s sacristy. New members are always welcome. Don’t forget too that the video series ‘Catholicism’ continues on Wednesdays after the 10 am Mass in St. Alphonsus Sacristy.

4) How are you using the ‘talents’ God has given you to spread the good news of Jesus Christ? Remember that this weekend’s gospel reminds us that God expects us to make productive use of his gifts to build His kingdom here on earth. Just handing back what we received won’t be good enough if we want to be counted among the chosen who are invited into heaven.

5) Tree of Life: You are all invited to help decorate our Advent ‘Tree of Life’. Next weekend you can take home a sheet with four decorations to personalize and then be brought back to Church and put in a basket. We will put one decoration each week on the tree. Watch the bulletin next week for more details.
