Notes from Fr. Tim
1) Our prayers and sympathy go out to the Fleury and Donlan families as they deal with the deaths of Sherry Fleury and Alice Donlan Ballerscheff, two women who died at an early age this past week. May God grant comfort to the bereaved and mercy to the deceased.

2) Bible Study: We’ve finished our journey through Paul’s Letter to the Romans and have decided to wait until January to resume. That will be an excellent time to join the group! Meetings will resume on Thursday, January 4, 2018, at 7 pm in St. Joseph’s.

3) We will be watching the next presentation in the ‘Catholicism’ series on Wednesday after the 10 am mass in Chapeau. The second presentation of the ‘Pivotal Catholics’ series will be shown in St. Joseph’s this Friday after the morning mass there.

4) We are still looking for more names of people who might appreciate a visit from our Christmas Elves initiative in the Chapeau parish. Packages of cookies, candies, and meat pies will be delivered before the middle of December as a little token of good cheer from the parish. Please call the office in you can think of someone who might appreciate a visit from these generous elves.

5) Food for thought: Here’s a little tidbit I once saw on a poster that might resonate with a few folks in our communities who think it important to stick their noses into other peoples affairs to report anything they don’t approve of to the authorities. I hope they might appreciate its wisdom as much as I do. “You never need to put a lid on a bucket of crabs. Any time one crab tries to get ahead by climbing out, other crabs will reach out and drag them back down. People are a lot like crabs!” Let’s all do our best to ensure that everyone gets ahead in our communities and families by putting ourselves authentically at the service of one another and put our individual ‘crabbiness’ behind us.
