Thanks to all who have helped over the years. I will try to send newsletters that Fr. Tim can place in the Parish news. We started in 1983 to take donations from a few friends and in 1994 we formed the “Friends of Peru” with Harry and Fay Neville, Fr. Shalla, Nancy Gleason, and ourselves. Donations over the years varied each year. 1995 =$4995.00, 2006 = $3,021.00, 2007 = $18, 200.00, 2008 = $21,019.00, 2014 = $14, 583.00, 2015 = $11,970.00, 2016 = $10, 302.00.

If you have an email address please add it on the envelope. Thank you for your generous gifts and we will make sure that 100 % of it goes to those in need. Income tax receipts will be provided. We leave for Peru the second week of November.

Some More Parish Bulletin Bloopers
1) For those of you who have children and don’t know it, we have a nursery downstairs.
2) The rosebud on the altar this morning is to announce the birth of David Alan Belzer, the sin of Rev and Mrs. Julius Belzer.
|Notes from Fr. Tim:|
|1) There are two long announcements in the bulletin this week that I would like to draw to your attention. The first is from Nancy McGuire thanking those who made a recent bus tour a resounding success. I just want to congratulate her for coming up with an innovative way to promote our corner of the Pontiac. The second is from the “Friends of Peru’ group in St. Joseph’s asking for donations for their ongoing work. Please be generous in supporting their ministry in Chincha Baja.
2) Speaking of Peru, the Chapeau parish will be organizing a Spaghetti Supper on Sunday, November 11th at Harrington Community Hall to raise funds for their sponsored project of building a vocational school in the Chincha Alto region. Tickets will go on sale next week. The profit from this supper will be added to the $1700 raised through the sale of vegetables and fruits throughout the summer. Our goal is to raise a total contribution of $4000. If we reach that mark, a Rotary Club in Quebec has pledged to add an additional $1000 to our funds.
3) We are approaching the start of this year’s catechism classes. Students are expected to arrive between 9:00-9:15 am at DWKS School on Sunday, November 4th. We are looking for a volunteer who can take responsibility for the Grade one class for that Sunday only as the regular teacher is not available. We are also looking for one more teacher to cover the Grade five class. Please call Pauline at the parish offices if you are willing to help.
4) Again saving the best for last… thank you to all the volunteers and patrons who participated in last weekend’s Parish Supper in St. Joseph’s. You proved once again that we offer the BEST Roast Beef supper!
