Notes from Fr. Tim:
1) Well, folks, the day has finally arrived for me to leave on my sabbatical in Baltimore. I will be driving down at the end of the week to start a four-month period of study and prayer. Please remember to say a prayer for me if and when I come to mind and know that I will be doing the same for you every day. I am scheduled to return to duty here on the May long weekend. Before I go, I’d just like to remind you of the arrangements that have been put in place to provide for your pastoral needs.

Priest Replacements: A variety of priests will be filling in at each of the parishes. They include Fr. Tom Fitzpatrick, Fr. Basil Tanguay, Fr. Réal Ouellet, Fr. Justin Bertrand, Fr. Terry Siroski, as well as a variety of priests from Madonna House. In the event of a funeral, Fr. Tom will take responsibility for celebrations in English while Fr Réal, Fr. Justin, and Fr. Mike Smith, will take the ones in French. Please call the parish office in the event of a death and Pauline will contact the appropriate priest to meet your need. The funeral directors have been made aware of my absence and will work with Pauline to ensure a priest will be available to assist you as needed.

Finance Coverage: Mr. Jerome Sallafranque and Miss Janie Carroll will sign any cheques to pay the bills while I’m gone. The diocese has granted them signing authority for all three parishes during my absence. The Finance Committee will meet this Tuesday to review the 2018 statements and once the final reconciliation is done for December they will be published for each church. Watch for them in February.

Rectory in St. Joseph’s: Donna Gagnon will be moving into the rectory to take care of my two dogs. Donna is not a parish employee and will not be able to serve anyone as the office will be locked when Pauline is not there. Please respect her privacy. I also ask you to restrict your calls and visits to Pauline to just during office hours only. Thank you. Pauline can also be reached via email (uppontiac@gmail.com) or on Facebook Messenger.

2) Our sympathies and condolences go out to the family of Pat Keon. Pat passed away this week after a battle with cancer and his funeral Mass will be celebrated in Chapeau this Monday at 11 am. Please keep his family in your prayers.

3) Congratulations to Jackson Patrick McKay, infant son of Erica Bechamp and Josh McKay, who is being baptized into our Catholic faith this weekend.
