Fr. Tim Sabbatical Notes: |
1) What a shock! We’re losing our Bishop to Kingston! Pope Francis has chosen to transfer +Mulhall from our Pembroke Diocese to become the new Archbishop of Kingston now that +Brendan O’Brien (another one of our former bishops) has reached the age of retirement. We wish Archbishop-Elect Mulhall all the best in his new assignment. Now it falls to all of us to begin praying that the Vatican choose well in appointing his successor bishop for us here in Pembroke. 2) Pauline has been working together with Mary-Lynne Jones to finalize the financial statements for publication in each of the parishes. They are down to checking the final drafts to ensure their accuracy and then they will distributed for your information and review. I sincerely thank you for your continuing support of each of our parish communities and hope that you will find the upcoming reports meet with your approval. 3) Hey Sheenboro parishioners! Have you reserved or purchased your ticket for the upcoming fundraising Spaghetti Supper being organized by Jennifer & Mark Jennings yet? I believe it’s taking place on the long weekend in May. Watch the bulletin for more updates as we get closer to that date. 4) I asked someone when they thought that the river was going to be open and free of ice up there this Spring… and they said July 14th! I know it’s been a long and difficult winter… but really? July? I’m still holding out hope that the last vestige of Winter will be long gone by the time I return for the May VictoriaDay Weekend. |
