St. Alphonsus C.W.L: The C.W.L. June Dinner will be held on Tuesday, June 11th at Harrington Community Centre. Yves Lafontaine will be our guest speaker and will recount some of his experiences while volunteering in Peru this past winter. Remember his efforts raising funds with vegetables, berries, etc. last summer! Roast beef dinner will be catered by Cheryl Smith. Tickets ($25.00) are now available. Young at Heart News: Please take note of the changes of dates. 1) There will be cards on Wednesday afternoons until June 12th. 2) The picnic will take place in the Hall on Wednesday, June 19th with games, prizes, food and drinks. It is free for all members.

St. Joseph Cemetery Clean-up: Will be held on Monday, May 27th at 6:30. we will be gathering for the annual graveyard clean-up. Please bring your rakes and shovels for the spreading of topsoil. Sheenboro Spaghetti Dinner : Our parish fundraiser dinner in support of our hall account was a great success raising $3000. Many thanks to our generous sponsors – Mark Jennings of IG Private Wealth, the Vermitte family of Eagle Marine Service Centre and Trevor Miller of Hotel Pontiac. Thanks to Jennifer Jennings for organizing the event and to all our volunteers for chopping veggies, cleaning salad greens, cooking, serving, selling tickets and those dishwashers! We also thank our diners to support the event.

Job Opportunity – Summer Student- Municipality of Chichester: This summer position will start on or around June 24th, 2019, for 30 to 40 hours a week and for a period of 8 to 9 weeks, including weekends. Walk The Opeongo Line, July 25-28, 2019 – Join pilgrims from ages 7-77 in this life-changing, 4-day journey from Our Lady of Fatima, Renfrew to St. Anne Shrine, Cormac. Diocesan Pilgrimage – Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré. Fr. Réal Ouellette and Fr. Justin Bertrand: are organizing a pilgrimage to the shrines of Notre-Dame-du-Cap, Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré (entire day) and St. Joseph’s Oratory from Tuesday, August 20th to Thursday, August 22nd. Spiritual Directors will be Fr. Réal Ouellette and Fr. Justin Bertrand. Departure at 8 a.m. on Tuesday. Prices will be determined by May 30th. Complete payment due by July 25th. 1) We welcomed Hazel Louise Fleury, daughter of Mila Schryer and Cory Fleury, who was baptized into our Catholic faith last weekend in Chapeau. Please keep her and her family in your prayers. 2) CONGRATULATIONS to the students who received the sacraments of Confession and Communion for the 1st time this weekend. This is an important step in their lives and it is a true honor to have the opportunity to share it with them. 3) Next weekend we will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation in Chapeau at the 10:30 am. Mass. We will gather for a practice on Saturday in the Church at 11 am. I thank the candidates in advance for ensuring that they arrive for the practice on time with their parents and/or sponsor. 4) Tickets for ‘Up at Fred’s – Allons-y’, a musical production by The Stonefence Players are almost half sold out already and they’ve only been available for a little more than a week! Don’t wait to purchase yours or it may be too late!! Tickets are selling for $50 each and they can be purchased online via Facebook, from the Parish Office, West Pontiac Connects, Belle Harrington, or Mariette Sallafranque-Fleury.
