Fr. Tim Notes:
1) Our condolences and prayers go out to the families of Anchie Bechamp (Maggie) of Chapeau and Mary Spence (Leo) of St. Joseph’s whose funerals were celebrated this past week. Please keep both the deceased and their loved ones in your thoughts and prayers.

2) Congratulations to Courtney Burnett and Eric O’Connor, whose wedding was celebrated this weekend in St. Alphonsus Church. Please pray that they will enjoy many happy years of marriage together.

3) Congratulations are also extended to the family of Rhea Gagnon (Ian Gagnon & Lisa Vaillancourt) and Hunter Norwich (Joshua Gagnon and Katy Connors) who were baptized last weekend.

4) We will be starting our adult catechism programs with a video course entitled ‘The Real Presence’ which provides an understanding of the Catholic position on the Eucharist. The first session will be held in the Chapeau sacristy on Wednesday, October 23rd following the 10 am Mass. The program will start the following week in St. Joseph’s on Tuesday, October 29th at 7 pm. The Eucharist is the most important element of our Catholic faith, often referred to as the ‘source and summit’ of our belief. I hope that we will have many Catholics who will come out to participate in these classes.

5) As of this weekend, we have started a second collection taken up after communion in all three parishes. 100% of the revenues collected will be used exclusively to help pay for needed repairs to each church. I thank you for your support of this initiative but remind you please not to decrease your regular weekly donations as they are essential to pay for the ongoing operation of our parishes. If we fail to financially support our parishes, we will need to follow the example of the rest of the Pontiac churches and start taking up collections at funerals and weddings. This is something I very much want to avoid.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!
