Thank you:  On behalf of our family, we wish to express our sincere appreciation to everyone for their expressions of sympathy, prayers, masses, flowers, visits, cards, food, and donations following the recent death and funeral of Terry. We want to thank Fr. Tim Moyle for presiding at the funeral Mass as well as to his co-celebrants, Fr. Pat Blake, Msgr. Douglas Bridge, Fr. Garry Cain, Fr. Bill Kenney, Fr. Grant Neville, and Fr. Michael Smith. Thanks also to the Knights of Columbus for their prayer service, honour guard, and pallbearers.  The choirs from both St. Joseph’s and St. Paul the Hermit Parishes with their beautiful music together with the readers and servers, along with the staff from Neville’s Funeral Home, who ensured that the Funeral Mass and burial was dignified, professional, and consoling for all of us. Of course, we would be remiss if we didn’t express our particular appreciation to the members of the CWL for providing the luncheon that followed, which permitted us to meet and offer our thanks to so many who attended. The kindnesses of all concerned will not be forgotten. May God bless you all.

Bishop Thomas Dowd, auxiliary bishop of Montreal, has accepted to offer a parish mission in our churches next year (2020). Keep an eye out for an announcement in December for the dates and try to keep some space in your schedule to participate.

Fr. Tim Notes:
1) Our Eucharistic Adoration program is now running in both Sheenboro and Chapeau, with St. Joseph’s to begin in two weeks. We require a few more folks in all three parishes who are willing to step up and be regular adorers. While agreeing to participate every week is optimal, you can sign up to come every second week if that better fits your schedule. Please call Mike Mainville (819-689-2681) or the church office if you are willing to join in this beautiful endeavour for our parishes.

2) We are also continuing with both the adult and children’s catechism programs. The kid’s next meet on Sunday, December 1st, at 9:15 am in DWKS. Please remember that their attendance at Mass each Sunday (not just on a Sunday when they have classes) is a required component of their catechism program. For the adult program, we continue to use video presentations (approximately 30 minutes) on Tuesday evenings (7 pm in St. Joseph’s) and Wednesday mornings (after the 10 am Mass) to help us grow in our understanding and love for the Mass and the Eucharist. Everyone is always welcome to either presentation. Why not take advantage of these opportunities to grow in your faith so that you’ll be better prepared to pass it along to your children and grandchildren?

3) Advent is fast approaching as we celebrate the last couple of Sundays in the Church’s calendar. It is a season of preparation for the great celebrations of the Christmas season. Now is a good time to give some thought and prayer as to how to make the best use of this time to be spiritually ready to celebrate our Lord’s birth.

4) Regarding the children’s catechism program: If your child still has not picked up their required workbooks for their class you can obtain it from Pauline in the parish office. As it has been, the cost remains $10.00. Also, if your child has not yet been registered or didn’t attend the first session last weekend, they can still participate if they obtain their workbook and attend the next class on the first Sunday in December. REMEMBER – Mass attendance is a REQUIRED component of the program and children must get their attendance sheet signed after Mass in the sacristy.
