During these days when the celebration of the Sunday Eucharist is unavailable to parishioners one option people have is to watch the celebration of a Mass either on TV or stream it online. One of the best online sites for this is EWTN which offers a streamed Mass at 8 am and again at 12 pm. Here’s a link that you can use to access EWTN’s website.
Just click on the link to go to their site and then choose WATCH LIVE from the menu at the top of the page.
Please know too that I am researching how we can stream the Mass that I will celebrate from St. Joseph’s parish at 9 am on Sunday morning via Facebook. I appreciate that these digital options do not fully equate to participating fully be attending Mass yourself, but we must do the best that we can during these difficult and dangerous times to both avail ourselves of the graces we need to cope while at the same time ensure the safety of all of our parishioners.
In the meantime, remember that our Churches remain open during scheduled times for our ongoing Eucharistic Adorations in all three parishes. If ever there was a time for us to make use of these blessed times of prayer to beseech Gods’ grace, it’s now! I encourage as many as possible to avail themselves of this opportunity. We will be providing an alcohol-based hand sanitizer at the entrances to each church. You must use it to wash your hands both when you enter and when you leave. We will also be washing down the pews with bleach after each day to do our best to ensure that the virus is not spread by those who choose to come out and pray. Here are the hours in which the Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for adoration in each church:
St. Paul the Hermit Parish-Sheenboro: Saturday, 8 am-10 am
St. Alphonsus Parish-Chapeau: Tuesday & Wednesday, 10 am-4 pm
St. Joseph’s Parish-Allumette Island: Thursday & Friday, 7 pm-8 pm
Your patience, support, and cooperation are greatly appreciated as we travel through this pandemic.
