NOTES FROM FR. TIM
Our sympathy to Carl Bowers upon the death of his son Kevin who died this past week. Funeral services were held elsewhere already but his remains will return home to be buried in the last week of November. Please remember the Bowers family in your daily prayers.

I want to express my thanks and appreciation to Nancy Gleason and Anita Sawyer for their efforts in managing and cleaning the Sheenboro Parish Hall for the past year. Their diligence and hard work has helped to establish policy and secure the assets of the hall, something that was sorely required. They each put MANY HOURS of hard work into this endeavour and we owe them a great debt of gratitude. Doris Ranger and Betty Morris have accepted to take over this responsibility for the next year.

Keeping with the Sheenboro Hall news, please note that due to higher energy and cleaning costs, the rental rates will be increased effective immediately to $450 for a social event and $175 for a funeral luncheon. There will be an energy surcharge added for any event between 15 November – 15 March. Call Doris, Betty, or the Parish Office for more details.

We have finally had an electric furnace installed in the parish office. Each of the parishes will be required to help pay this considerable expense. Any extra donations to help defray this necessary expense will be greatly appreciated.

We will soon be closing the cemeteries for ashes burials for the winter season. Now is also the time that all articles on the ground should be removed before the snow arrives. Solar lights, flowers, or decorative ornamentation should be removed lest they be damaged during the winter. We count on everyone’s cooperation so that we can keep our costs (and therefore the price to you!) down as low as possible.

Please remember to mark November 27th on your calendar as this is the day that Bishop Mulhall arrives to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation for this year’s candidates. The mass will be at 7 pm in St. Joseph’s. Candidates are expected to attend a rehearsal on Wednesday Nov. 26th in St; Joseph’s at 7 pm.

The Sheenboro Recreation Association would like to thank everyone who participated in and contributed to our Remembrance Day luncheon. Thank you, in particular, to all those who worked in the kitchen cooking and serving food, in the main hall serving beverages and desserts and the clean-up crew who left the hall in ship shape condition. This community rocks!!
