ALPHONSUS CWL: will sponsor a CARD PARTY for our Peruvian Child at Harrington Community Centre today Sunday, January 11^th. Registration at 1 p.m. and cards begin at 1:30 p.m. Light lunch will be served.

CWL membership fees ($20.00) are due anytime now. Kindly use the envelope in your box or a regular one marked “CWL Fees” with your name on it. It can be dropped in the collection basket or given to a member.

The new schedule for lectors and EOMC is ready and can be picked up in the vestry.

MARRIAGE BANNS: There is a promise of marriage between: Molly Bridget McGuire, daughter of Charlie McGuire and Nancy Bimm of St. Joseph’s, QC; and Joshua John Pasch, son of John Pasch and Sandy Taylor of Ladysmith, QC. The wedding is scheduled to be celebrated on 21 February 2015 in St. Joseph’s Parish.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Sister Muriel O’Connor(sister of Iveagh Duff & Aunt of Leonard & Lawrence Duff) Who passed away on Wednesday, January 7^th.

THANK YOU: Cammie & Tim Doyle would like to thank friends, neighbours, and family for their kindness and support at the time of Edwin’s death. Thank you for the expressions of sympathy as well as donations to charities in Edwin’s memory and the memorial masses to be said. As well thank you to those who donated food and provided flowers. Thank you to Father Moyle and the Sheen choir as well as those who helped with the grave. It is all truly appreciated and will never be forgotten.

YOUNG AT HEART: At their meeting January 7^th, they passed a motion that their members are to play cards on Wednesday afternoons from 1-3 pm until June.

-Wednesday January 21^st there will be a potluck dinner at 12 noon. Hope to see a lot of members attend.

-Young at Heart is sponsoring Monday night Euchre games until March 30^th. We hope members will contribute to gifts for door prizes.

FUNDRAISING: I am raising money for a volunteer trip to the Dominican Republic for Community Development. As a fundraiser I will be lending a helping hand to those interested for a donation. (if you have any lingering tasks you wish to have me do) Between December 21st and January 9th. There will be 4 hour increments of service provided. Yoga with Jason. Thursdays January 8-Feb 12 from 12:30-1:30 at St. Joseph’s Centre for Families and Seniors. Zumba. Mondays January 12-February 23 except February 9 (6 classes). CHOSEN: Once we enter in the New Year, Our Lady of Lourdes in Pembroke will begin a youth ministry program called “Chosen.” Youth from other parishes are most welcome. Who? Youth from Grades 9-12,

What ? Dynamic Faith formation. When? on Sundays from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm Where? at Our Lady of Lourdes Hall Why? This is an awesome program and our faith is worth it! Questions? Contact Fr. Michael 613-735-6392.

UPPER PONTIAC SPORTS COMPLEX:   is open for public skating Wednesdays and Fridays 6:30 to 7:50.  The cost is $2 for adults, $1 for children and free when we have a sponsor.

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: Bishop N.Z. Lorrain council of the Knights of Columbus will host a night with Milton Fraser of the Pembroke office of the Alzheimer’s society of Ottawa and Renfrew County. The topic will be Alzheimer’s Awareness Month and will be on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at the K of C Hall on Ellis Avenue, Pembroke starting at 7 p.m. This event is open to council members, their families and the community at large.
