1) Good news folks! I’ve been able to obtain the services of Fr. Grant Neville to help on Easter Sunday so there will be a mass in each of the three parishes that morning. The Sunday Easter Services will be as follows: 9:00 am – St. Joseph’s;  10:30 am – Chapeau;  10:30 am – Sheenboro.

2) The Easter vigil will be held in Chapeau this year. It is the single most beautiful mass of the calendar year. I hope that many folks will take advantage of the opportunity to celebrate it with the good folks of St. Alphonsus.

3) Our sympathy to the family of Leona Audet (née Pleau) whose funeral was celebrated in Chapeau on Thursday. Please remember to keep her children and their families in your prayers

4) If you hear some extra barking in the background when you call the parish office these days it’s because I’ve had a new puppy move in with Mateo and I. Hobbs is a ten week old Beardie (same breed as Mateo) and he’s full of vim, vigor, and vitality – as all puppies are! Please say a prayer that housetraining goes swiftly and easily for all concerned!

5) Have you visited our parish website yet? The weekly bulletin, local obituaries, and the occasional good article is posted there. The address is While you’re online why not take a moment to visit my personal blog as well at
