ST. JOSEPH CONVENT IN CHAPEAU: Due to the weekly break-ins to the former St Joseph Convent in Chapeau. It is with regret that there will be a reassessment regarding the future of the proposed plans for the former historical building. There will a safety and security assessment done by two security companies early next week and a video DVR system will be installed inside and outside the Convent. I will be asking for the assistance of Provincial Police to provide me with a safety audit including lighting in the backyard. The break-ins have increased since school ended for the summer holidays. These incidents have delayed the future of any business development and the possible abandonment of a new development for the Iles aux Allumettes. I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank those who have contributed to the history of the Teachers College, the Sisters of St Joseph and the Normaliennes.

As I return to work next weekend, I want to take this opportunity to thank my brother priests who filled in for me during my month of recovery from my stroke. Their support has been greatly appreciated. I look forward to seeing everyone once again in August.
