Notes from Fr. Tim |
1) If you wish to receive a blessing at communion time instead of the Eucharist, please make sure to get in line where I am standing as only a priest is permitted to give such a blessing. This is not something that a lay minister can offer.
2) It is good to see the work progressing on the Chapeau side entrance project. The footings for the new addition are being poured and soon we’ll see the new walls and roof going up! Hopefully, we will be able to use the new entrance by Christmas but it will certainly be ready in the new year. 3) Bishop Mulhall is unavailable to celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation this fall as he will be out of the country on Vatican business. He has delegated me to offer the sacrament to the candidates who were prepared last year on Sunday, November 20th at 9 am in St. Joseph’s Church. We ask the candidates and/or their parents to confirm their attendance by calling the Parish Office. Thank you for your cooperation. 4) We have a few sick parishioners in hospital at this time. Your prayers for them would be greatly appreciated. 5) Bible Study Class is cancelled this week as I will be attending the Renfrew County Pro-Life Annual Banquet in Pembroke. Our next class will be on Thursday, November 3rd. 6) Our annual St. Joseph’s Supper was a GREAT success! Many thanks to Donna Tierney and all her volunteers for their hard work. Your efforts greatly benefit the parish – both with your FANTASTIC meal and financially with the profits. Much appreciated!! |
