CATECHISM CLASSES: If you have a child in Grade 1, you should pre-register if you haven’t preregistered bring your child on the 6th. Classes will begin on Sunday, November 6th at 9:15 at Dr. Wilbert Keon School. Your books can be purchased that day $10(activity book) the reader is provided by the Parish and is to be handed in when the classes are finished for the year. (If anyone has any readers that they forgot to turn in last year you can do so on this date as well). Thank you!

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Allan Wickham, son of Terri Lavallie Wickham, nephew of Sheila Stacey.

CHAPEAU CWL: will be sponsoring card parties for the next three months. We will not be asking for sandwiches or squares but donations of prizes would help greatly. They could be given to Joan, Gail or Janie. Thank you for your participation in this way!

ST. ALPHONSUS CWL will meet at Harrington Community Centre on Tuesday, November 1 at 1 p.m. All members are welcome to attend.

St. Alphonsus Craft Sale and Brunch is scheduled for Sunday, November 20that Harrington Community Centre. Contact Joan (819-689-5223) to reserve your table.

There will be a box at church two Sundays before the brunch for non-perishable donations for the tote (dice prize). Every item is appreciated and will help fill the tote.

LION’S CLUB PANCAKE BREAKFAST: will be held this Sunday, October 30th from 8 am to 12 pm.

WALTHAM ANNUAL CHRISTMAS CRAFT/BAKE SALE ON SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 5TH 9:00 A.M – 3:00 P.M. WALTHAM TOWN HALL: Canteen-serving baked beans, beef barley soup, Chilli, And a great lunch special. Raffle for a Christmas Dinner (frozen turkey, 10lbs. of potatoes, cranberries, stuffing, etc.) Proceeds – Christmas Baskets for area families. FLU SHOTS: will be available to everyone on Monday, November 14 from 10:00 am to 6:30 pm and on Monday, November 28th at Harrington Community Centre from 1:00 pm to 6:30 p.m. Please bring your medical card.

REMEMBRANCE DAY IN SHEENBORO: Remembrance Day in Sheenboro will be celebrated on November 6, 2016. Mass will be held at 11 am, followed by Remembrance Day ceremonies that will be held at the Cenetaph. The Sheenboro Recreation Association is hosting a roast beef dinner following the Remembrance Day mass on November 6th. Due to increased food costs, we will be charging $10 per adult and $5 for children under 12. Veterans, soldiers and children under 5 eat for free. We are asking the community for donations of pie for dessert. The sign-up sheet is at the back of the church or you may call Jean Lebel at 819-689-2119 or email jeaniegleason@gmail.com

PAROISSE ST. JEAN BAPTISTE – 75TH ANNIVERSARY – PEMBROKE, ON: Former parishioners and the general public are invited to the festivities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Paroisse St. jean Baptiste  Sunday, October 30th, 2016 Mass: celebrated by Bishop Mulhall at 10:30 a.m. Banquet at 6:00 p.m. in Salle Ste-Croix, downstairs in St. Jean Baptiste church. (Tickets are on sale for $20 at the Centre culturel francophone until October 21).

FRIENDS OF PERU: There is a meeting of Friends of Peru this Sunday Oct 30th at 3:00pm. at the parish house of St. Joseph. We are leaving for Peru about the middle of November. Donations should be placed in an envelope with your name on it and mention that it is for friends of Peru. PLACE It in the collection and it will get to us.  KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS: The next regular meeting of Bishop N.Z. Lorrain Council 1531 will be held Tuesday, Nov. 8 at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Ellis Avenue, Pembroke at 7:30 p.m.

Bishop N.Z. Lorrain Council 1531 of the Knights of Columbus will host its annual memorial mass for deceased members of the third and fourth degrees on Nov. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Church of the Most Holy Name  at 7 p.m. The mass is open to all members, their families, parishes and community at large.

Chapeau Gallery News – 1. An Art Show and reception will be held at the Gallery, featuring children’s Arts & Crafts on Sunday, October 30th from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome. 2. On Sunday, October 30th, 10-3 pm, the members are having a “Clothing Giveaway” (used, good condition and seasonal) for infants, children, girls, boys, teenagers, women and men of various sizes.

Notes from Fr. Tim
1) Confirmation for the students who took the preparation course with me last year will be celebrated on Sunday, November 20th at the 9 am Mass in St. Joseph’s. Please contact the office (819-689-5232) to let us know you will be attending. There will be a practice the day before at 11 am. in St. Joseph’s.

2) Thank you to the people who helped out with brushing out the Cemetery in St. Joseph’s. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

3) Bible Study class will be on Thursday at 7 pm. in the parish rectory. New members are always welcome.

4) Classes for this year’s students in Grade Six to prepare for next years Confirmation begin next Sunday in the sacristy of the Chapeau Church immediately following the 10:30 am. Mass.

5) Our sympathy and prayers to the family of Florence Brunette who died this past week. Florence was buried in the Nichabeau cemetery.

 Marriage Bann: There is a promise of marriage between Stephanie Adrienne Morris, daughter of Joanne Laviolette and Shamus Morris and Raymond Jean Vaillancourt, son of Anne-Marie Keon and Andre Vaillancourt, to take place in St. Alphonsus Parish on Saturday,  November 12, 2016 at 4 pm. Fr. Tom Fitzpatrick will be officiating.                                                                                                                                                                                                      L’ISLE-AUX-ALLUMETTES REMEMBERS & HONOURS: The municipality of L’isle-aux-Allumettes invites you to join us as we pay tribute to our “Fallen Soldiers” at this year’s Remembrance Day Ceremony(Service & Laying of Wreaths) to be held on Sunday, November 6th at 11:15 a.m. St. Alphonsus Church grounds, Village of Chapeau Reception and light lunch following at Harrington Community Centre.
