|Notes from Fr. Tim|
|1) MERRY CHRISTMAS one and all! May the holiday season bring you peace, love, and joy as we celebrate the birth of the Christ child.
2) THANK YOU to everyone who worked so hard to prepare for these Christmas celebrations: the choirs, sacristans, lectors, eucharistic ministers, pageant coordinators and participants, decorators, helping priests… the list is almost endless. It’s thanks to your efforts that the celebration of this great feast is a highlight of the Church year. Your work is greatly appreciated!
3) I have a little sad news to pass along. Fr. Tom Fitzpatrick, who has helped out in our parishes many times this past year was involved in a car accident last weekend. He is laid up at home with a broken heel and other minor injuries – none of which are un-repairable. Unfortunately the same cannot be said for his car. To help him replace it (the insurance payout is minimal on a 15 yr. old Dodge Neon), we will take up a 2nd collection at all of next weekend’s masses. I want to thank the St. Joseph’s CWL for already kicking off this project with a $100 donation as well as to an anonymous Sheenboro parishioner from a donation of $50. Fr. Tom has been there for us when I suffered my stroke last summer. It’s now our turn to be there to help him in his moment of need! Donations will be accepted until January 8th at which point we will send him a cheque to help get him back on the road.
4) The proper catechism books for the Confirmation class have arrived and can be picked up either at the parish office or in the Chapeau sacristy following masses over the next two weekends. The next class will be held on Sunday, January 8th following the 10:30 am mass in the sacristy at St. Alphonsus church.
5) Bible Study classes resume on Thursday, January 5th at 7 pm in the St. Joseph Rectory.
