Notes from Fr. Tim:
1) We’ve launched into the Letter of James in our bible study group. It meets on Thursday evenings at 7 pm in St. Joseph’s. New members are always welcome.

2) How about writing our local Federal M.P., Mr. Will Amos to ask for an explanation as to why the government is demanding that organizations must ‘attest’ their support for abortions as a requirement for applying for a summer student grant? Another alternative is to schedule a meeting with him this week as he’s coming to Chichester on Tuesday to meet with his constituents. There’s been lots of coverage in the national media on the subject if you want to learn more about this issue.

3) There will be a meeting of the Sheenboro Pastoral Council on Tuesday at 7 pm. We will meet at the Chapeau Church office so that we don’t have to heat up the parish hall. Once the weather warms up, we will move our meetings back to Sheenboro.

4) I think it’s time for us to contemplate establishing a Joint Pastoral Council to plan pastoral activities for all of our local churches. This council would be made up of two or three representatives from each church. It would function in the same manner as our existing Finance Council which meets together once every three months with local church groups meeting to decide issues specific to them as needed. Let me know what you think.
