Notes from Fr. Tim: |
1) Well, folks, it’s been an expensive week. We had to replace the rectory furnace in St. Joseph’s and repair the one that heats the office there too. Hopefully, parishioners from all three parishes will be generous in helping to defray these unexpected expenses since the cost is shared among all of them.
2) Speaking of expenses in St. Joseph’s, we’ve just sent a number of candle stands away to be re-plated and repaired. The cost for that work is going to be just north of $3,000. Any donations from St. Joseph’s parishioners to help defray this expense would be greatly appreciated. 3) The Spaghetti Supper for the St. Alphonsus Parish mission project in Peru is being held this Sunday (Nov. 11th) at 5 pm in Harrington Community Centre. There are a few tickets still available at the door and a limited number of take-out meals still available. There will be a brief slide presentation explaining the work that we are supporting… and some other interesting news will be announced as well. Hope to see you there! 4) We welcomed Brynn Ann Marie Fleming into our Catholic faith last weekend. The newly baptized is the infant daughter of Samantha and Robert Fleming. 5) Best wishes and prayers go with Jim and Alicia Keogh who depart this week for Peru. May God richly bless them in their ministry down there. 6) There will be a meeting of the Sheenboro Pastoral Council this Tuesday (Nov. 13th) in the Chapeau Sacristy. Please let Joann McCann know if you are not able to attend. Thank you. 7) Please remember to pray for the soul of Eldon Tackney who died recently. His funeral was celebrated at the Neville Funeral Home this past Thursday. Our sympathy and prayers go out to his family. |
