Morris, Neil Raymond – June 04, 1936 – September 20, 2019

Peacefully at home surrounded by family, on September 20, 2019, at the age of 83. Loving husband of Laura for 56 years. Devoted father of Joanna Tremblay (David Tremblay), Brian Morris (Kerry Morris), and Melanie Morris (Lee Jones). Cherished grandfather of Brendan and Keelan Tremblay, Raegen and Connor Jones, and Adam Morris. Beloved son and predeceased by parents Gilbert and Dorothy Morris (nee Vezina). Neil will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and the stories he told and will be deeply missed by his many extended family and friends.

Neil’s life took him from his birthplace of Schumacher in Northern Ontario to the cities of Chapleau, North Bay, Sarnia, London and finally the Ottawa area. He worked a variety of interesting jobs in his younger years, finally finding his calling as a Journalist. He specialized as a Medical Science reporter and received countless awards for his distinguished writing. He met his beautiful future wife Laura while spending time in Sheenboro, QC along the shores of the Ottawa River, a place that he treasured and became a part of him. Together they built the cottage, a place where family and friends have made countless wonderful memories through the years. The family would like to thank the Champlain Regional Palliative Consultation Team for their care and compassion during his final days.

Friends are invited to join the family at a Memorial Service at St. Paul the Hermit Parish, Sheenboro, QC at 11:00 on Saturday, September 28th, 2019. A Celebration of life will follow at the Cottage.
