Don’t forget the CWL Christmas Party this Tuesday, December 10th (7:00 p.m.) at Harrington Community Centre.   You are more than welcome to join us for a few games and music.  Anyone attending is asked to bring a small plate of goodies to share.  The “Money Tree” donations will go to the Bouffe Pontiac” this year.  Do join us and bring a friend.

Sheenboro:  Euchre Tournament – held in Sheenboro Municipal Hall, Tuesday evenings.  Sign-up starts at 6:45 pm and games start at 7:00 pm sharp.  The cost is $5.00 per player.  50% of proceeds go to the winner.  The other 50% is being raised for charity, either 3rd world or local, yet to be determined.  Please note December 24th and 31st there will be no cards. January 7th, 2020 euchre tournament resumes.  A few ladies from Sheenboro thought this may be a nice outing thru the winter.  Everyone welcome.

FATHER TIM’S CHRISTMAS COOKIE ELVES:  are gearing up for another festive season Good luck & Happy baking.  Cookies will be needed on the 10th of December at 2 p.m. at the church. Thanks so much for all your help!

Island Lights Event: will be held on Dec 14th, 2019 at 6pm in the village of Chapeau.  Join us for some hot chocolate and Christmas carolling.  Donations will go to the local schools, Dr. Wilbert Keon and Notre Dame du Sacré Coeur.

St. Joseph’s C.W.L:  We are having our “turkey raffle” again this year.  Five Dollars a bag (one dollar a ticket).  The Turkey draw will be on the 19th of December and our cookies will be delivered that day also.  There is nothing left of our $20 fee.  This year they have added 50 cents insurance for each member.  National per capita fee (Per Member) is $13.00, Provincial $3.00, Diocesan $3.50 and now insurance 50 cents for a total of $20.00.  So, as you can see, we need a fundraiser.  Nothing left.  Again, thank you for your generosity and support.

“St. Joseph’s parish is looking for children 3 years and up to participate in this year’s Christmas pageant. The first practice is to be held on December 8th following 9:00 am mass.  Please contact Rebecca Kelly at 819-689-5287 if interested. Hope to see you there! ”

Thank you:  The family of the late Aurel Chaput would like to thank everyone who came to the celebration of his life at the church.  To Fr. Tim Moyle for the beautiful service and his kind words & to the choir for the touching music.  To the C.W.L. ladies for the delicious lunch.  To Greg Hayes from Hayes Funeral Home for being so kind and helpful.  To those who stopped by the house, sent flowers, cards, brought food and called to see how we were doing.  To my son-in-law Perry McGuire for playing Amazing Grace on the bagpipes.  To our daughter Nöella for the beautiful letter for her father, wearing his favourite hat and singing his favourite song “I’ll fly away”.  We feel very blessed to have such a wonderful family and friends and a supportive community.  To my three beautiful daughters who have been my rock during this difficult time.  “God Bless you all.”

Fr. Tim Notes:
1) Our Eucharistic Adoration program is now functioning on all cylinders! If you have any free time on the weekend, you can go to Sheenboro on Saturday morning from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Want to go on a weekday? You can take advantage of the extended hours in Chapeau on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10:30 am to 4:00 pm. Prefer to adore during the evening hours? Then St. Joseph’s is for you from 7:00 to 8:00 pm. on Thursday and Friday. I can’t think of a better way to prepare your soul for the celebration of the Savior’s birth than to take some time to visit with him. You should try it!!

2) The Christmas Mass schedule set. Christmas Eve Masses will be celebrated in St. Joseph’s and Sheenboro at 5:00 pm and in Chapeau at 7 pm. Christmas Day Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am in Chapeau.

3) We will continue with our video course on Forgiveness in January as there are many demands on our time as we all get ready for Christmas.

4) Our prayers to the families of Fleurette Demers-Chaput and Lorenzo Fleury as their funerals are celebrated in St. Alphonsus Church.

5) Regarding the children’s catechism program: If your child still has not picked up their required workbooks for their class you can obtain it from Pauline at the Parish office during office hours. As it has been, the cost remains $10.00 to obtain their workbook.   Mass attendance is a REQUIRED component of the program and children must get their attendance sheet signed after Mass in the sacristy.  The next Catechism class will be held in January 2020 at 9:00 a.m. at D.W.K.S.  Thank you!

6) Confessions will be heard on Thursday and Friday evenings during Advent at the Holy Hour from 7:00 to 8:00 pm in St. Joseph’s Church.
