Notes from Fr: Tim
1) Here’s an update on our various Chapeau construction projects: a) The new side entrance is still awaiting the final set of plans needed to put the project out to tender. Once we receive these plans, the project will proceed asap. The hold-up has been with the architect getting the various engineering stamps required to get the necessary government approvals.

b) Converting the rectory into a hospice is still proceeding, but it will be delayed. We do not want this project to interfere with the fundraising efforts for Meilleur Manor (Seniors Housing) and have therefore decided to put this initiative on hold – at least as regards the physical work needed to renovate the rectory. A committee is being put together so that once construction on Meilleur Manor is underway we will be ready to move forward on this project. Until that time and since it is better for the building to be occupied than to sit empty, a local artists cooperative will be using the rectory as a gallery/art school.

2) Our sympathy to the family of John Lapierre who died this week after his long battle with cancer. Please remember to lift them up in prayer during this difficult time of grief.

3) Please pray for the repose of the soul of Mr. Edgar McGuire (Chapeau) who passed away this week. The arrangement for his funeral services are not yet completed, but we know that they will be held on Monday, August 3rd at 2 pm. Watch next weekend’s bulletin for more details.

4) Tickets for the Chapeau parish draw are available to be picked up at the entrances to the Church. We ask each family to try to sell a minimum of 10 books as this is an important component of our profit generated by the parish supper.
