FRIENDS OF PERU: We want to thank you for the support of our friends in Peru. We will be returning to Peru in November and anyone who wants to give a donation we will see that 100% of it is given to a needy family. We will not have a 50/50 draw this year but if you can collect refundable bottles or cans from your neighbors and cash them in for this work, it would be and added bonus. Donations can be placed in a separate envelope, marked Friends of Peru and placed in the Sunday collection. If you give us your email address we will try to keep in touch from Peru. |Notes from Fr: Tim|
|1) This weekend marks both the civic Thanksgiving holiday and the opening of the moose hunting season. Remember to pray so that we can all be thankful when all our hunters safely return from their time in the bush.
2) I will be leading a Pet Memorial Service on the grounds of the Pembroke Animal Hospital this coming Saturday at 1 pm. If you have recently lost an animal companion, why not plan to attend and join with others who have experienced a similar loss?
3) A big THANK YOU to all the volunteers who made our Chapeau Parish Supper last Sunday such a huge success! We served 1001 tasty meals thanks to your efforts and hard work. This event is a very important fundraiser and I deeply appreciate your help in making it such a great success.
4) Catechism classes will begin on Sunday, Nov. 1st for all the students in our churches. Students from Gr. 1-5 will meet at DWKS at 9 am. Gr. 6 students will meet with me in the Chapeau sacristy following the Sunday mass. (Really… I mean it this time. It’s actually going to start on that date!! Just look at the previous two published dates as ‘practice announcements’ for the start of this mandatory program for all elementary school students… he says sheepishly.)
