Notes from Fr. Tim: |
1) What a great success! The Chapeau Parish Supper is done for another year after a record-breaking event this year. Now it’s on to St. Joseph’s for what promises to be another fantastic supper. These fundraisers are essential to our financial health as parishes and it warms both my heart and our bank accounts to see such support and Christian comradeship in putting them on. Thank you, everyone.
2) Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Please remember to pray for the safety of all those who travel this weekend to celebrate with family and friends. 3) The Catechism program for the children of our parishes will begin on the first Sunday in November at 9:15 am in DWKS school. Only children who participate in this program each year will be allowed to receive their sacraments. I ask the teachers to please contact me at the parish offices to discuss this years’ program. Thanks. 4) Don’t forget to say a prayer for the safety of those who are participating in the Moose hunt this year. 5) Here’s a little ‘holy humor’ to brighten this Thanksgiving weekend: GOOD SAMARITAN A Sunday school teacher was telling her class the story of the Good Samaritan. She asked the class, “If you saw a person lying on the roadside, all wounded and bleeding, what would you do?” A thoughtful little girl broke the hushed silence, “I think I’d throw up.” HIGHER POWER A Sunday school teacher said to her children, “We have been learning how powerful kings and queens were in Bible times. But, there is a Higher Power. Can anybody tell me what it is?” One child blurted out, “Aces!” |
HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!!!
